Tom Scholz, PhD, CFA, CPA, CPFC

Tom is an Associate Professor of Finance and Economics at Concordia University Wisconsin and a Certified Personal Finance Counselor.

Before he joined Concordia in 2016, Tom taught at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Before joining academia full-time, Tom worked for nineteen years in the investment industry in Minneapolis, London, Buenos Aires (teaching), Chicago, and Milwaukee.

Tom spent five years as a research analyst at Milwaukee-based Cleary Gull. He spent eight years as an Analytics Team manager/analyst at Chicago-based Harris Associates, manager of the Oakmark Funds. Before that, Tom worked as a Risk & Performance Analyst at Goldman Sachs in London and as an Investment Accountant at American Express Financial Advisors in Minneapolis.

Tom received his undergraduate degree in finance and accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his MBA from the University of Chicago, and his PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi.
